Guild Wars Players News #21: Clocks and Shields

Cithryth has some issues speaking this week but we do manage to discuss the newly revealed mesmer elite specialization, the chronomancer. We also talk about Vinewrath, necromancers, and Drac reads a bit of poetry.

Asura Gates

  • only graduates from the College of Dynamics can build or repair the gates
  • The original asura gate network was built using the Central Transfer Chamber as it’s main hub and source of power, based on a “dragon statue” there that turned out to actually be Primordus
  • Obviously when he woke up some changes had to be made
  • Each asura gate is tuned to a specific location where it’s twin gate is. It takes a ton of energy to tune a gate, so they are nearly never retuned to new locations
  • Although owned, built, and maintained by asura, the gates operate based on the laws where they are located – this means the local governments determine what can or cannot go through gates

What did you do this week in-game?

  • Cithryth – Fractals are gross; made Reaver of the Mists; made Mawdrey; lots of Vinewrath (for money, not to get the beta item thing) what even is this
  • Draculetta – Ran around Silverwastes (first time there)
  • Ethelros – Created Faffny, bow before his glorious visage!
